Drew Darby was born in San Angelo, attended San Angelo public schools, and graduated from Central High in 1965. An All- District football player at Central, Drew attended the University of Texas on a football scholarship. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting. In 1971, he earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas.
Drew is the founder of Drew Darby & Associates Law Firm and president and owner of Surety Title Company and Double D Title, Inc. with nine offices serving 11 counties. Surety Title Company had the first completely computerized sovereignty title plant in the United States.

Drew has been active in Republican politics for more than 30 years. He served as a poll watcher for the Republican Party in its first primary election held in Tom Green County. He is currently a member of the Tom Green County and Scurry County Pachyderm Clubs and an associate member of the Concho Valley Republican Women.
Drew and his wife, Clarisa, have been married for 22 years. He has five children: Derek, an attorney with Shanks Darby, married to the former Crystin Hohmann of San Angelo - the parents of grandson Davis; Devon, Catering Director for Exxon Mobil; Taylor, a sophomore at University of Texas Austin, and twins Ashley and Regan, freshmen at University of Texas Austin.
Drew serves as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo, where his family attends. Drew enjoys spending time with family, sporting events, golf, hunting, and reading.
