Representative Darby was born and raised in San Angelo where he attended the San Angelo public school system. He is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Finance and a minor in Accounting. He holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas. In 2007, he graduated from the Emerging Political Leaders Program at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
As a successful businessman, Representative Darby is the founder of W. Drew Darby and Associates Law Firm, and owner of the Surety Title Company and Double D Title, serving West Texas.
Drew and his wife, Clarisa, have been married twenty-four years. They have five children and two grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, sporting events, golf, hunting, and reading.
