Voters in Texas House District 72 elected Drew Darby to represent them in 2006 and returned him to office in 2008 and 2010. Drew has become a leader in the Texas House of Representatives during his six years of service.
Drew currently serves a third term on the important House Committee on Appropriations. He is chairman of the Subcommittee on Natural Resources, Business & Economic Development and Regulatory Agencies and vice-chairman of the House Committee on Transportation. Drew also is a key member on the State Sovereignty and the Local and Consent Calendars committees.
During the current interim between sessions, Drew chairs the Subcommittee on Funding for the Select Committee on Transportation Funding, a subcommittee tasked to seek fiscally sound transportation policy that will meet the infrastructure and mobility challenges of Texas.

Drew's past service to the people of Texas includes San Angelo city councilman, chairman of the San Angelo Water Advisory Board, and chairman of the Lake Nasworthy Advisory Board.
Drew is a member of the Texas Farm Bureau, the National Rifle Association, the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' Association, the Tom Green County Bar Association, member of San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, and the State Bar of Texas.
Biography
Drew Darby was born in San Angelo, Texas in 1947. He grew up in San Angelo and attended San Angelo public schools, graduating from San Angelo Central High School in 1965. He was a starting football player on the Bobcat football team.
Drew attended the University of Texas on a football scholarship and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting. He was the first member of his family to attend and graduate from college.
Drew then entered the University of Texas School of Law and earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas in 1971. He also is a graduate of Emerging Political Leaders Program at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
A successful businessman, Drew is the founder of Drew Darby and Associates Law Firm and owner of Surety Title Company, Inc., a firm with offices throughout West Texas.
Drew and his wife, Clarisa, celebrate twenty-five years of marriage and have five children and two grandchildren.
