Achievements

Two of Representative Darby's highest honors were received during his first legislative session. One of these tributes, the "Chairman Award" was received from the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the community. He was also bestowed the title of "Honorary Alumni" for authoring House Bill 3564, which allowed the realignment of Angelo State University with the Texas Tech University System, a first in the history of the Texas Higher Education System.

Representative Darby was recently recognized as a "Legislative Star" by the Texas Classroom Teacher's Association and a "Friend of County Government" by the Texas Association of Counties. He has also received the "Outstanding Legislator Award" from the Texas Land Title Association, "Outstanding Contribution to Law Enforcement" from the Texas Police Chiefs Association, and a "Champion of Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business.
