- Chairman's Award from the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding contributions to the San Angelo community.
- Honorary Alumni from Angelo State University for authoring House Bill 3564 which allowed the realignment of Angelo State University with the Texas Tech University System, a first in the history of Texas Higher Education.
- Outstanding Legislator recognition by the Texas Land Title Association
- Friends of County Government recognition by the Texas Association of Counties
