As a second grader I shall never forget that Sunday sitting by the radio in the living room to listen as news came on, parents shocking explanation and a few words from President Roosevelt. On Monday our teacher called our full classroom of first and second graders to gather in the front reading chairs to tell us the President had just declared we were at war. We must never forget.

One of the most anticipated holiday traditions in West Texas and the entire state is the annual Christmas at Old Fort Concho! Throughout this weekend, I had the opportunity to attend various events and connect with numerous families as we immersed ourselves in the joyous holiday spirit in the festive atmosphere reminiscent of the 1800s.
